What's new in hockey?
Many things have changed since last season. Take a look!

Jagr is traded, Lindros returns to hockey, Berard returns as well, Teams swap players, and more!
This was written the day of the Jagr trade:

Speculation is Over
Jaromir Jagr Traded to the Washington Capitals

The day that seemed an impossibility just a year ago became a reality today. After 11 years, 806 games, 1,079 points and two Stanley Cups, Jaromir Jagr is a Penguin no more.

But perhaps what is more shocking is where the former Pittsburgh captain will be suiting up next season. It wasn't the free-spending New York Rangers, the Dallas Stars or even the Los Angeles Kings that won the trade war for the five-time scoring champ, but the Pens arch playoff nemesis, the Washington Capitals.

Jagr, along with little-used defenseman Frantisek Kucera was sent to the Caps in exchange for three of Washington’s top prospects: Kris Beech, Ross Lupaschuk and Michal Sivek, plus future considerations. All three of those players were drafted in the top 35 of the 1999 Entry Draft by the Capitals.

Lindros traded to Rangers:

Eric lindros, former Flyer, was sent to the new York Rangers after many of time waiting. Though he first stated the Leafs were the only team he'd play for, he heads to the Rangers for a new season. Hopefully this season will prove to be less injury stricten. As long as he keeps his head up and plays healthy, this season should be a good one for him.

Berard sets his eyes on playing again:

Though his eye only allows him so much vision, Berard has proven that he still deserves a spot in the NHL line-up. The question is how good he will be. He talent will definately make up in what he lacks for eyesight. He is now playing for New York Rangers, and will hopefully be able to play very well and kick some butt!

Major trades and team switches:

*Robitaille leaves LA to play for Detriot

*The walking corpse, I mean Hull, leaves Dallas to join Robitaille and try to kick some butt

*Hasek, who chose not to retire to stay plaing with Buffalo, heads of to Detriot to help Hull and Bobitaille

*Dallas picks up Turgeon from St.Louis

*St.Louis sends #1 goalie Turek to calgary

*Valerei Bure joins his brother in Florida

*Osgood leaves Detriot for better things, in New York, to play for the Islanders

*Recently named Bruins captian Jason Allison is sent, along with my Mikko Elornata, to LA for Jozef Stumpel and Glenn Murray

*Peter Laviolette, former assistant coach of the Bruins, leaves his cozy home in Barrington, RI (my hometown!) to coach the Islanders

*Peter Forsberg takes the season off

*Ray Bourque retires after a great season with teh Avs

*Tom Barrasso, former Penguin goalie, comes back from time off with his sick daughter to play for Carolina

*~~~*Many more trades and switches have occured, but i don't have the time to mention them all!*~~~*
